How to tell your budgies gender

Writer: Crazy Bird LadyCrazy Bird Lady

Finding out whether your budgies is Male or Female is pretty straight forward. If it is a young Female the Cere (the area above the beak) it should be white or pale pink and if it is a Mature Female it should be a dark shade of brown or beige. If it is a young male the Cere (again the area above the beak) will be a bright pink or purple color if it is a Mature Male it should be a bright blue color. The Cere changes color as they mature which is why I have provided some charts to help you out once the budgie is fully grown the Cere will stop changing color.

Hope this helps you out

Sincerely, The Crazy Bird Lady
