Thinking of getting a feathered companion try getting a rescued or re-homed one

Hey Crazy Bird Lady here today I want to talk about getting a rescued or re-homed bird. As you know i have 5 birds but what you didn't know is that actually 2 of them originally belonged to someone else. The 2 birds I am talking about are my pair of Male Zebra Finches (Fergus and Felix) They were on an Ad on Kijiji titled Free to a good home. Sure you can get a bird at a pet store but their are lots of birds at animal rescue centers and Kijiji that need homes. Either cause their owners did not realize all the work and effort you need to put in or they are downsizing homes and no longer have the room for them which was the case for Fergus and Felix. But before you go looking to give a new home to a feathered friend in need always do research on the amount of work it takes to have one and if you think you can still do the work always ask the right questions whether getting a re-homed or rescue bird. I will provide a list of questions down below to help you out as well on Monday i will be posting about getting used bird cages so you do not have to spend a lot of money getting a brand new one you can't afford. Hope you enjoyed my post and subscribe for notifications on new content :)

List of questions to ask when getting a rescue or re-homed bird

1: What brand of food do they eat ?

2: How old are they or how long have you had them ?

3: Any health issues/injuries or vet visits I should know about ?

4: Do they eat any fruits or vegetables if so what do they prefer ?

5: Are their wings clipped and do you let them in or out of their cage ?

6: Do they have come with a cage or any extra supplies if not what should I be buying ?

7: Are their any particular antibiotics or vitamins they are on ? (due to injury or health issues)

8: Have they been around any other birds with any diseases ?

9: Are they on a particular routine I should try to follow ?

10: Do they have any bad habits or behaviors I should know about ?

Sincerely, The Crazy Bird Lady
